whazzut?

Just wondering what types of weird things people do when no one else is around. For instance, do you shut the bathroom door at your house or apartment when no one is home?  Do you sing in your car when you’re driving down the interstate with people on both sides of you, or just when you’re by yourself on the road? Do you laugh at funny things on TV when no one is there to hear you? Do you occasionally talk to yourself when you’re alone or practice a conversation you might have with someone?  Me too. What other weird … Continue Reading

march insaneness

am i the only person in the world that doesn’t give two craps and a seaweed about march madness?? Who cares? Obviously everyone but me. I hate basketball. K, that will be all. Hope everyone’s having a good day. Or the 3 people that I think still look at this site. later

Tattoos

I’m gonna try to avoid talking about music this time.
I think tattoos are cool… to a point. I have two of them, and sometimes I get hit with the stigma that people with tattoos are ex convicts or bad guys or something. Girls think I’m a ‘bad boy’ and dudes assume I like to drink whiskey (and both are partially true, come to think of it). I guess it’s not unfounded, who would want to permanently mark their body with a symbol? You don’t put a bumper sticker on a porche, right? And yet, I like them, but mostly … Continue Reading

the ending

I just finished reading The Grapes of Wrath for the first time, and personally, I was really disappointed in the ending.  For some reason, I thought there was going to be this unthinkable tragedy at the end or the family was going to randomly find somewhere nice to live, but it just ends with a very very weird scene that should never ever have to happen.  I guess I won’t say what the ending is in case someone hasn’t read it, but let’s just say it made me a little sick to my stomach.  I was expecting something else I … Continue Reading

Chris Cornell’s New Record, ‘Scream’

I wasn’t going to blog cause it’s around 1 am and I don’t wanna fall asleep in class tommorrow, but I just bought Chris Cornell’s newest record on Amazon for 3 bones. I knew it was going to be a trainwreck. CC, my favorite singer of all time, the singer of Soundgarden, singer of Audioslave, the guy who sang Black Hole Sun, the guy who sang Spoonman, I could go on forever, just did an album with….Timbaland. Taking a complete 180 from the artist i know and respect, he changes up both his lyrical style and his music style to … Continue Reading

you are what you read

I love to read. Normally I like to read books or articles that have some factual meaning to them.  Lately I haven’t been interested in fictional literature.  It seems to be mindless and a waste of time.  I know I learn things from anything that I read, but I prefer to read things, nowadays, that will make me think about the world around me and hopefully teach me a thing or two.  Although, sometimes I get really nervous to read certain books.  Books are so powerful.  Words, in general, when read, are quite powerful to even the sharpest mind.  The written … Continue Reading

weird

“I’m not sure if I feel happy that this man is able to move around again, or disgusted that we are supporting his excessive obesity by making this news, or bad about myself because he just got married…..”
The world’s heaviest man is having a van customised to support his weight, ending more than six years confined to his bed.

Marines

Feel like making a mistake sometime? Go up to a Marine, then mistake the marines for the army. I live with two guys who are headed to Marine boot camp in July, and the three of us are like a gang. I hope boot camp doesn’t change them at all, but from what I’ve learned/been told, its three months of pure cruelty. Apparently army bootcamp is way different in the level of severity, and on a whole, the marines and the army are quasi rivals. They take it pretty serious, yo. They’ve never gotten mad at me when i made … Continue Reading

Golden rule pressure

Have you ever realized how hard it is to be a good person?  All my life I’ve been told how to act towards others and myself, and I’ve never realized, until recently thinking about it, how much stress it’s put on my life.  We shouldn’t have to try to be good people, we just just naturally be a good person, but at times we have to try to be nice because we really don’t want to be, and that’s where the stress starts to pile up.  Being a teacher, I feel as if I have to be somewhere near perfect because of my job.  People … Continue Reading

Rainy Day Woman’s Infinite Playlist

I recently saw Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and I absolutely adored this movie.  Granted, I love any kind of story about a crazy night that involves all kinds of fun & debauchery and ends with a happy ending, so I’m not all that hard to please.  And I’m also a sucker for Micheal Cera, so this movie is extra special to me.

This past Friday night, for me, was kind of like that movie.  I mean, I didn’t hook up with a cute boy that plays guitar in a band, nor did I go in search of a secret concert by finding clues in various establishments … Continue Reading
